What is the best way to synchronize

04/20/2009 2:23 AM

Dear all,

Would u please advice me what will be the best way to synchronize with FG Wilson Diesel (Model: P1250) and CAT Gas genset. After synchronized the Load sharing system should be automatic. Please also let me know what is the winding pitch of CAT alternatorS? If winding pitch is different then how I can synchronize?

Thanks to all

Hanif

Hi Hanif, there are a number of controllers available in the market that will provide synchronisation and automatic load sharing. You will need details on the interface with each generator. The electrical protection may need to be checked to ensure it is suitable for the application. If you are using circuit breakers on each generator, they will have to be motorised and provided with a control system. The gas set needs a controller suitable for use on a gas generator.

As far as I know, most Cat generators are 2/3 pitch, but some are different. Perhaps your local Cat dealer could find out the pitch of your gas set if you have the model and serial number.

If the pitch is different, you may need to find some way to attenuate any circulating currents, but I cannot help you any further.

Regards,

David

Dear Abuhanif,

Please try to check www.deepseaplc.com, or email sales@Deepseaaplc.com and they can assist you on your needs, as I am also using DSE model 5510 and it was very good, I believed they have some new model that will fit your needs. they also got online technical support in case you encountered some problem on the system in the future.

Kind regards

Roman

from my opinion, it is hard for diesel & gas genset to sync since both of them have different character...diesel genset is stable compared to gas genset...for gas u have to depend on ur gas quality & frequency hunting might occurred & this are rarely happened to diesel genset...wish u luck
