Fuel Gas Compressor Cylinder Knocks

Probably liquid carry over due to condensate in the compressor suction system. But you also may already have hurt it bad. Check wrist pins and con rods. Also make sure piston and rod nuts are tight.

The problem lies liquid carryover in the suction.You can get the compressor opened up and check the damage as Steve suggested but it will happen again.

You will have to install a knock out drum with filters so that liquid carry over is minimum.

If already installed why not it functioning correctly.

Three items are very important:

• Solve the problem of condensate in suction line, may be by using special traps or by using K.O. Drum.

• Install special damping check valve on the discharge line, in addition to those built in check valves in the compressor.

• Install surge drum on the downstream.
