Electric Wire Size

I intend to connect a 150w bulb with power supply 240v. What is the size of cable to use?

Check out your local regs! You may find that the minimum csa for lighting circuits is 1.5mm regardless of the size of the lamp and also an earth conductor at the fixture!

For connecting a 150W or 100W bulb, I don't resort to web for help.

and sorry PWS (i don't even look at the standards). Not worth it.

I go to the local hardware shop and tell him, and he just gives me the cable (BTW- this is likely to be the lowest rating cable available with him- @150W, 240V). The time taken in posting and getting the answer will be more than walking over to him and getting the cable.

I do the standards and the web search when I ma connecting machines with approx 100s of KW when the ampere and the length is significant.
