Impact Resistance for LEXAN or Makrolon

04/29/2009 2:45 PM

I work in a lab and have been given a portable garage with polycarbonate roof panels. The roof panels are to allow sunlight to enter the garage. The panels are clear. (I do no have a sample of this garage in at my lab)

My customer would like to know if the roof panels meet or exceet the impact resistance of LEXAN or Makrolon at -30C 0C and 70C.

Does anyone know where I can get a data sheet with impact resistance vs temperature? I have visited their websites, did the google thing but I cannot come up with the information I am looking for.

If a data sheet does not exist, would anyone know approximately what the impact resistance vs temperature would be? I just need an apporximation to continue on with my work.

Regards, Rick

Call the manufacturer of the Makrolon/Lexan, They do have this data. I recently (within the last year) had a project which used Makrolon bullet resistant glass. I was able to get all the information you need right from the manufacturer. Call them and ask for Engineering/technical service.
