Finally, Good Customer Service!

04/30/2009 6:53 PM

I just had a most rewarding experience with a company that I have to share with someone. The company in question was Country Home Products, Inc., and the issue I had was with a DR Field and Brush Mower that had been purchased by someone else and shipped to one of my clients out in the middle of the jungle in Panama- I have no idea when, or whether the unit had been registered for warranty when purchased or not. The information I needed was not readily available on line, so I tried their "Live Chat". The whole process took maybe five minutes over a very slow internet connection, and in less than 10 minutes, I had the information I needed, although it had to be relayed through two offices between the company and my location. It took less than 2 hours to get the information in my hands. The customer service people were friendly, helpful and surprisingly knowledgable- since I did not have a model number, they used the serial number to locate the original sales record to determine exactly what I needed. Why can't ALL companies respond so well? I want to shout to the roof tops, Yes, Virginia, Customer Service still exists! And there is at least one company out there doing it right.

I agree. Most sales companies lack the knowledge, after sales services and the decency to reply to your complaints\queries.

Just compare with this:

Sorry, it's spoken in Brazilian Portuguese, but anyway it's easy to understand the sense. Regrettably this kind of situations is not unusual.

Probably a case of ..."education" and the paucity of English skill that goes with it did not stand in the way of finding solutions.

I had Costco do me a "beyond the call of duty" last month. I have had nothing but issues with my HP laptop. The last straw was my wireless going out.

HP did everything they were suppose to on every issue. I still don't agree with the limited administrator rights on you own HP system, but for non computer literate it would be ok.

Ok back to Costco, I bought the system there and used their support on most of the issues. I asked them to let me take it back and get a new system. At first they said that is no longer policy but listened to my issues and everyone I talked to agreed with me. After getting forwarded all the way to corporate customer service they had me talk to the correct parties and was told to return my system.

Costco did this after almost 2 years. They quit doing this as policy because some moral less customers were upgrading with the original price to a better system after they used it for some time.

The laptop was my first non-self built system. After 4 years at Intel prototyping and development of motherboards I prefer to do it my self. But a laptop was not my forte. So I bought one from Costco because it was a good price and had the features I wanted.

Costco did such a good job at resolving my problem I added almost $500. to my refund and purchased a outstanding desk top gaming system from them. I have had it just over two weeks and it is everything the laptop was not. And I can work on it or modify it as needed. (it even makes M$'s Vista scream) The 2048 X 1156(?) native resolution 24" Samsung monitor, that with the video card that is faster than my eyes, does not hurt either.

They have made me one very happy customer.

Brad

Was my initial reaction to the first HP machine I used, never had one since.

Yep that's what is necessary; a machine design ready for Vista, not the squeamish low powered machines that are passed off to the unknowing.

I built a 5.6GHz unit for my buddy a few months ago; he'd had myriad trouble before. The other day he said that he didn't understand why the new one works so much better. I said trying to explain will confuse you be happy and just use it.
