Information on pump head of piston pump - KEW Brand

05/02/2009 1:16 AM

To support our sales of electrical machines to the industry, we run a rewind/repair workshop.

Recently we have ended up with 2 high pressure pumps using 4 pistons driven by 3 phase 7kw4pole motors. After rewinding the motors the pumps were run but found it did not develop any pressure at all.

When the pump head was opened we found there were no lipseals or the O rings which seal the head of the pump. Cannot contact the manufacturer KEW INDUSTRIES. Will be most grateful if someone can help locate the manufacturer to get information on the pump head. We are located in Jakarta, Indonesia.

KEW INDUSTRIES A/S, DK9560 Hadsund, tel 98572111, Mod. 44 C3 KSA-2 serial no.9046108, Cap160bar (200bar max),2 X(400V Y 3ph 50Hz), 2 x 12Amp IP45, Cap. 2 x 17.3 L/Min, power 2 x 6.7KW, 70 deg C Max. Temp, year 1996-26. Have GOOGLED & searched.

These pumps look have been dry for long period. Also form its bed to rewinding shop they would have been shifted place to place. So intentionally or unintentionally might have drained off. Reciprocating pump some times take its prime if it is wet and partially filled. But if bone dry, they may not self-prime. So ensure they are well primed and suction and discharge valves are active (dynamic and leak tight).

Still if not working give more info like as how you are testing these pumps, liquid source, at what elevation the source is, valves condition, gland condition etc.

Thanks.Yes pumps have been dry & moved around for a long time. The level of water is about 50cm above the centre line of the pumphead. It has no valves but recess for lipseals and O rings which we have fitted. No doubt parts are missing. Could we send you pictures of the opened up pumphead. Test were simply by filling the tank and running the motor. It took only 7amp almost no load current. Unable locate Kew Industriesthat produced the pump. Could you pls help.

Its my pleasure if I could help.

Please attach the relevant pictures herein or to me (contact@yesyen.com).

Can you make a sketch of your test rig, it is easy to make one of this kind. Draw the sketch in PowerPoint, save it as jpg format and use the tool 'insert/Edit image' found in this message header.
