Dear Guest,

For deriving required cable size, we have to calculate the allowable voltage drop at starting and running conditions. For that, we need to know the type of load including the power factor, the Switch Inrush current, etc.

Once these data are available, we can derive the cable size keeping in view of allowable voltage drop by using proper resistance/reactance values of various cable sizes and the length of the cable.

If this is homework, do it yourself. If this is for a job get a professional to do it as you do not appear to be qualified.

Look in you local code book for a cable with 400 amp ampacity. You information is not correct. 223 kw at 400 volts does not = 400 amps. info missing?

Even Ik = 120 KA seems mis leading. for such a small feeder, Ik should not be more then 15 KA. max. in any ways.
