Alumina Yarn

11/22/2006 11:15 AM

I've been looking an alumina yarn to be processed in a weaving facility. Thermal properties as well as warping and weaving capabilities to be tested in a curtain fabric.

Thanks

Alumina Yarn Fabric is manufactured by few companies now. One of them is 3M. Perhaps they may give you some fiber also. Carbon fiber, Alunmina fiber and Quartz fibers are meants of high temperature applications, heat shielding purpose. You may also need some filler material to retain shape if that is the requirement. Earlier glass fibers were used. What is the temperature you wish to reach?

The "Technology" link on your homepage (...index.html) is dead.

"Ladies interested in working at Sensors Technology Private Limited can visit us on Sundays from 02:00PM to 03:00PM."

----------------

Why just ladies, Shyam? And is that the time everybody else goes for tea or something? (even though I suspect you're a one-man company, as nobody else's name is mentioned anywhere on your website.) Could it be you're really India's famous Austin Powers in Disguise?

Nah.

Dear Friend

Ladies in this small City Gwalior rarely work outside their homes. This particulat time is after they become free from cooking lunch for the family and perhaps can look at new ideas I develop for them to think if they can work on these in their free time. Men do not work at home so they can come any time.

I am not free on all 6 days of the weak. Hence Sunday is booked for their activities. It is like a social service. I generally address them in different technology areas and show them things to look at. This gives them some feeling to get involved.

Dr. Guru,

I don't know what you talking about. I'll let you know if something comes up on new development as well as new product already made.

Thanks anyway

I'm not certain about temperature....that's exactly what I'm trying to define. This is related to an experiment to see ability of Alumina polyester clothing resistance.

Thanks

Manuel

Polyester can hardly withstand any temperature and will be out below 200C, while alumina is for 2000C plus. What is the point?

Nah has looked on my website and found that there is meeting time on Sundays for women. He wanted to know why I entertain only women. He pushed the talk away from the topic.

I looked for Alumina yarn for different reason. I needed high temperature shielding material. 3M is making it and few more people are also now making it for formula one cars and aircraft engines.

I have used Alumina as thermoluminescent material to sense radiation. I thought Alumina will always be brittle.

Look at
