Underhood Hydrogen Boost in Fleet Test

05/07/2009 3:06 PM

Rumor has it the State of Maine Highway Patrol has contracted with a firm for HHO units for gas powered police cruisers.

A quick conversation with a company representative in the parking lot confirms they are on-board electrolysis units.

Hopefully being a state agency, they will be required to gather data, submit it to the public, and prove or disprove this technology once and for all in a massive fleet test.

Not sure I can, they don't even have a website.

Mayhaps I should sniff around the Sheriff office?

Quick Watson - The games afoot!

That'd go over real well in this time of Homeland security

I know the Maine State Police have been evaluating hydrogen fuel cell cars. Is this a case where some HHO scammers turned a molehill into an island? I can't imagine any state agency violating anti-pollution laws on this scale. By the way, this technology has been big-time disproved long ago.

I have followed the many discussions, was just looking forward to the results so we can point to something "other" than science that might be acceptable to the many HHO visitors we get.

Well, you're being polite to them. I've sorta come to the conclusion that the only way to reach most of the fans is to let 'em go ahead and ruin a motor.

Well, I sympathize a bit - I initially had great hopes too.

Fortunately I already had many names I respected here, so I had trusted advisers. When I brought my thoughts to them they gently disabused me of my notions.

Well Maine isn't exactly a State, it is more like a County with a fancy title.

First fundamental of being here and getting along is not pointing out their relatively minuscule size.

They make up for it (support the illusion?) by making the roads very curvey.

Guys,

We all get fooled at some point. I once believed astrological predictions. When I first read Velikovsky, I was pretty convinced. In the early 70s, when the toulene/benzene fuel additives came out, I checked them out. I took a graduate course in land law from one of the great swindlers of our time . I try to just learn from my mistakes and move on. There's no shame in being fooled...once.

Geez I'm stunned it's been several days & not a HHO guy in sight

Still waiting to see some actual data...

I won't be holding my breath.

I have been wondering what happened to Ken's test, I suppose that it worked & an oil company put out a hit on him

I announced a rumor, but even if true, implementation and the gathering of data should take several months so - don't hold your breath and I'll try to get copied on the data.
