transfering power through gear boxes

say that i have a 20 hp vertical shafted motor...i want to make a gear box to transfer it to horizontal shaft out put, or two shaft outputs. what kind of values am i looking for.in gear size-shape an tooth count, an shaft length? an where might i find a re-tailer to craft the items for me?

Google "Gearboxes". You most likely will find a commercially available unit designed to do exactly what it is you want to do.
