Minimum Design Metal Temperature (MDMT)

I am an engineer new to this area. We are designing a cooling system with propane (98%), for an environment with a minimum temperature of 16 º C, we have now determined according to the conditions of process that only requires a single step in the process of compression. Currently we are determining the wall thickness of some vessels, to select the material must determine MDMT.

My question is if anyone has any foristas of the document where I can read and review some sample calculations, we would determine it without the help of software?

I am a vessel designer where I work and we fabricate vessels for Natural Gas, Oil, Water, desanders, etc.

I would consider using a SA-516-70 Grade plate rolled to a specific diameter for the shell. The heads can be either pipe caps or formed heads depending on the diam needed.

If the diam is small enough you can sub in SA-106-B grade SMLS Pipe also. It is also good for -20°F to over 100°F

SA-516-70N is great for -55°F to over 300°F. Propane in my line of work is a Sweet Service so very little corrosion allowance is required.
