I think this is just a money pit...
I don't think it's actually a 'problem' unless your battery is going flat or the car is dieing on you.

Car electrics are a law unto themselves and designed by Gibbons, any garage repairs are by pseudo random guesswork swapping bits over until they find a temporary fix.
It could easlly just be a poor connection dropping an extra few millivolts.

Let it go, take the money and worry you will save and take your partner out for a nice meal, or give it to charity.
If this is your only problem in life you are a very lucky man.
(Sorry if that sounds grumpy, I'm willing to be castigated over this...)

Hang on I'm confused the thread title says brake light, the text says battery light.

If it's a brake light it needs fixing, but its prob' just a bad earth connection to chassis.
Or maybe it's a localised disscontinuity in the probability matrix?

Actually, the first thing to look at is the battery and its connections (Del is absolutely correct<...its prob' just a bad earth connection to chassis...>).

Yeah, calibrating the warp phase dampers can be a real bitch

Could also be something as simple as a loose belt slipping at idle speed. Better to go to warp8 speed.

If you read what you wrote above...it answers your own question...
It's 'repairing' it which is costing money....
Leave it alone, it won't damage the car.
The worst thing that will happen is the battery may eventually go flat, but this almost certainly won't happen as most charging of the battery is done when the car is being driven (not idling).
Chill out, stoke a cat and try to enjoy life...

These days the idling is often controlled by a shed load of electronics.
It's probably not adjustable...in the old days there were adjustment screws on the carburetor.

checking for loose connections is a matter of tightening every connection you can find anywhere near anything electrical, Alternator/ voltage regulator, battery terminals etc. normally just slacken 'em half a turn then nip e'm up tight.
My advice is still... 'Step away from the car'
