Wanted: 44" OD Corona Rings

05/20/2009 10:01 AM

Anyone have suggestions on finding a company capable of making 8"ODx.25wall into 44"OD aluminum corona rings? I have tried contacting everything that comes up on google with no luck. We havnt made these in over 10 years and the old company is out of bussiness now. Any help appreciated

Was this made by expanding a tube from 8" to a 44" formed shape? If you are looking for large quantities, try auto body parts manufacturers - they would probably be desperate enough for business to try it.

If you just need a few at a time and don't have to have the original fabrication process duplicated, just the end product, then a short-run aluminum foundry such as LeSeuer Incorporated (http://www.lesueurinc.com/) in LeSeuer, MN can probably cast and polish a reasonable duplicate. The Dotson Foundry in Mankato, MN (http://www.dotson.com/) generally works with iron, but they have also done aluminum products. Dotson has long had a reputation for its ability to make complex shapes to high tolerances.
