Put your control components into well gasketed dust tight enclosures. That's why they make them. If you are in North America, that would be UL/NEMA/EEMAC type 12 or 4. If you are in any other country, that would be IEC type IP54 or better (for example, IP55, IP65 etc.)

As to motors, you need to use TENV (Totally Enclosed Non Ventilated) or TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled) motors. Again in IEC countries, that would be IP54 or higher.

If the dust still gets in through the gaskets, the next level of protection is to go with a "Purged Air" system. They use filtered instrument quality compressed air to pressurize the enclosures so that nothing gets in. These are typically used on Explosive Atmosphere locations, but can also be used for fne dust. They are very epensive however, and it is often less expensive to justmove the controls to a cleaner area.

Electrical Equipment for conveyor like motors feeder are design for dust proof with IEC standard of IP54 or IP56. It should not be a problem if the lime dust is on the motor, just use normal air to dust blow it once a weeks or twice a weeks. That is normal. These motor are design for it and you cannot cover the motor with enclosure, otherwise your motor will have no air for circulation and your motor will burnt.

There are some dust proof Junction boxes available in the market. These junction box have rubber seal at the door and when you close the junction box cover, the rubber seal will press against the box and no dust will able to enter. Of course you can use double junction box to protect the dust entering in to your JB.

If we has a PLC install at these dusty area, we always use double junction box for the protection from the dust and in these junction box, what we do is, to pressurize the junction box with a very small flow of nitrogen gas. You have to use nitrogen gas because these nitrogen gas is very dry and does not have any moisture in it.

If it is in an enclosed area fresh (filtered) air is key. you could also use air ionizers.
