Power Supply for Controller

06/03/2009 7:34 AM

For example if we have two rack, one is local rack and another one remoter rack in ther controller. As per our project we are using local rack has 24vDC supply system with I/O and Remote rack has 120vAC power supply with I/O.

Normally when design a design guide for controller, whether we can club both power supply in the rack. If it is acceptable, how it is Slot arrangement with powersupply

Normally, we always keep both power cable of 120VAc and 24Vcd in separately cable rack. AC Voltage had the tendency to introduce noise in to your 24Vdc cables and your signal cable and causes the unnecessary error in your signal feedback to your instrument.

But if you can't, then you have to make sure that your cable rack is earthed to the ground.
