Is Digikey a Retailer?

06/04/2009 2:27 PM

I am working on a sensor network used in a medical instrument. I want to purchase accelerometers from Digikey in retail quantity (actually 20 pieces of MMA7260QT). Does Digikey sell in retails quantities? Is there a better online retailer?

Does Digikey sell in retails quantities?

Yes, as low as a minimum order quantity of 1.

What country are you in? Have you tried RS, Newark or Farnell? How about a google or similar search of the part, also of the manufacturer's websites to see if they list distributors.

You can also try Allied, and Mouser. I like Jameco, too - but they may not carry your part.

Hello Olufola,

First let me say I am nothing to do with Digikey.

But, they are very helpful when asked about anything. They have a 'live link' where you can ask anything including quantities and prices. But, you have to remember, the shipping rate could be more than the cost of the product you buy, because you are buying small amounts.

I have never bought anything from Digikey, but they do not try to 'sell' to you, just answer your questions.

Take care.........................bb

You might try McMaster-Carr.
