Glass frosting help requested,

06/05/2009 12:31 PM

Dear Members,

I have a glass(borosilicate) item and trying to make its surface texture like sand blasting, But unfortunately I cant do sandblasting as part is too fragile.

I am trying chemical frosting with hydrofluoric acid to achieve desired surface texture, but not getting any frosting effect, can anyone suggest what may be wrong with my process? or what else I can try?

Many thanks in advance.

I am a regular member from India but not signing in due to competitive reasons.

Have you tried Armors etching cream on it. Some of the etching chemicals do not work well on Borosilicate glass. You need to find one listed to etch Pyrex.
