Friends
We know much about "Open Source Software", especially about such excellent Operating Systems like UBUNTU, LINUX and also one of the most wonderful systems of Office Suite that outwits Microsoft's Office (for Free!): Open Office Org. Mozzilla Firefox is an Open source Internet Browser giving a real "run" to Microsft's IE.
Now, here we shall bring out Engineered Design Solutions to answer the problems of Global warming and Global Poverty, through what we shall call: Open Source Engineering Design (OSED)
This discussion is being directed at young and dynamic engineers (as well as Engineering Students in the advanced levels), posing them the Challenge to create a New World Order, through OSED.
As a first step, they are invited to visit and study the Blog:

Discussions could be initially made through the CR4 blog or through the blog No.3 above.
The ultimate Objective of this OSED arrangement is to centralize the Total Design Solutions to Sustainability Engineering, culminating in New Green industry/ businesses that would have values above US $Four trillion. In this connection, the writer would like to aver that the future of the world lies not in generating more and more so-called "high-tech", energy gulping and materials gulping gadgets and equipments, but in Sustainably utilizing all available Renewable Resources - the greatest volumes being the vegetation/ plants/ weed resources. Strangely, we forget to visualize that every sq m of land with average rainfall of about 800 to 900 mm would generate not less than 4 to 5 Kg of Green vegetation matter per annum. Compare this with the solar insolation per sq m (which ranges from less than 1 w per hr in the arctic to about 8 w per hr in Sahara Desert!), which would be available in a day for a total period of about 6 hrs. On the basis of average green matter growth, India alone would generate not less than 16 billion tons (green weight inclusive of moisture) of vegetation per annum!
Come! ... let us all be part of such a gigantic OSED, and let this be the beginning of TNBT (The Next Big Thing)!
