Reducing Fan Coil Motor

I installed FCU with a 1hp single phase motor, it produces humming sound, can i replaced it with 1/2hp motor to eliminate humming sound. its installed above ceiling because there is no other way to installed it.

Any motor change would effect the performance of the fan coil unit. The manufactures data would help you with that. The noise may not be from the motor. A more likely enemy is air flow or blower blade vibration.

thanks..

but it seems like a humming sound, vibrating from motor to cabinet. does 1hp and single phase makes this, i heard 1hp motor is like this if its single phase. But thanks anyway.

Balance the motor shaft with the coupling in a lathe.The balance is out.

The manufacture of fan coil should gurantee that there is no significant sound, otherwise a vibration pad should be installed.
