Cable Size Selection

please give me a guideline for selection of power cable size. if possible please give me the standard that shows the relation between current rating and cross sectional area of a copper wire with in a definate length?

The greater the Amp draw, the bigger the cable.

In the U.S. refer to NEC Article 310 - Conductors for General Wiring.

The sizing of cables is relevant to ambient temperature & many other things. Consequently, your location, how you wish to install the cables, the type of load, the length of the cables, the location of the cables etc will dictate the size of the cable.

Generally speaking, you must use local rules, regulations & standards to ascertain the size of a particular cable.
