Digital Television Broadcasting Equipment

06/18/2009 12:57 AM

Which TV transmitter frequency band is better as regards to offering Multiplex Operation Servies (MUX) for digital broadcasting:

VHF band or

UHF band

Please give reasons to your answer focussing on an invester on MUX services in a country like Tanzania, Kenya or Uganda. Also emagine an invester wants to invest in either Comercial or Public MUX sevices. An invester would like to do business (make profit) by offering signal distribution for Content Service Providers. Please consider investment costs, digital receiver prices as regards to complexity and potability for hand held receivers. also consider equipment coverage. I intend to invest in this kind of business. Please advise.

There is an international convention on broadcasting frequencies, for obvious reasons.

I sympathize with your desire for information, but given the amount of effort you describe; I do not think a forum of helpful but unpaid engineers is the best place to ask for what you want, the way you are asking.

I would however, suggest that you take the extensive list of requirements you present and consider restating it as an invitation for bid here on CR4.

There are several capable members here with the expertise necessary for the analysis you desire. But as an investor, you would not expect to give your professional work away for free. The detailed study you ask for will not come free either.
