ASME B16.10 for Globe Valves Larger Than 12"

07/03/2009 5:39 AM

Hi,

the face-to-face dimensions of class 300 steel globe valves according to ASME B16.10 stops at the size of 12". What dimensions are valid for larger globe valves of this class?

Thanks for help.

Ralf

Could it be that the table ends at 12" because other types of valves are more economic above these diameters, i.e. there is no call for them?

Did you check up in API?

API 598 may cover it. Got to check it up. API-6D doesn't cover the globe but covers the other types upto 60"

In larger sizes the spindle and the disc may not work properly. However if a manufacturer assures of good quality, then dimensions shall be as per manufacturer's standard.

Obviously there is no such standard on face-to-face dimensions for this kind of valves. This is also an answer and we are a bit less restricticted in designig a new functioning valve.

Thanks for the input.
