What should be the size of oil staorage tank if we require 1000ml output from it. the oil is stored inside the tank using the pump. Flow rate of output oil may be any amount.

The volume needs to be greater than the outlet flowrate divided by the refill frequency, for continuous operation. If the flow from it is intermittent, then multiply the above by the on/off ratio.

Thank you, please see the some more info on the process...

We are using the foot operated diaphragm pump & giving 6 strokes to fill 1000ml oil inside the reservoir, per stroke pump out put is 170ml. The output from the reservoir will be opened only after filling the 1000ml of oil inside the reservoir ( at the end of the 6th stroke) Please reply...

Yesterday we have used the reservoir of volume 2000ml & tested. We are unable to give the 7th stroke, the foot paddle will not operate may be because of the back pressure. our pump output is 170ml per stroke in 6 strokes there is 1000ml inside the reservoir. This is true when we opened the reservoir outlet exactly 1000ml oil collected.

Volume must be ≥ 1 litre.

Smallest dimensions for a cubic tank are 100mm x 100mm x 100mm.

Are you sure you're asking the right question?

Is it a closed loop system (as in hydraulics the oil is recirculated back) ?

Yes sir its a closed loop system, we are using the foot operated diaphragm pump to fill the reservoir. The out put from pump per stroke is 170ml, so in 6 strokes there will be about 1000ml oil inside the reservoir. While applying the stroke the nozzle at the ouput of reservoir will be closed, It will be opened only at the end of the 6th stroke.
