Hydraulic Force for Sheet Metal Processing

07/07/2009 2:42 AM

Hi,

How can I calculate the required hydraulic force ( kN or Ton ) for sheet metal punching, cutting and bending process?

Thanks,

from, Atul

1. Do not repeat the same question again either in the same forum or even in different forums.

2. Please google and you will get the answer. In fact you could have got it from the handbooks too.

Just for example first link in

http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&q=punching+force&meta=&aq=f&oq=

Results 1 - 10 of about 47,600,000 for punching force. (0.48 seconds)

is

http://www.precisionsheetmetal.com/home/forces.htm

that answers your question

Punching force calculation

How to calculate punching force in tons

Punching force = 25 x Land distance x Material thickness x Material factor x Shear factor

Note: 1 Ton = 8.90 kN. 1kN = .112 Tons

....

Similar is the one with bending too.
