Pressure Vessel Software

07/07/2009 3:28 AM

Dear all,

What is the powerful software for analyzing pressure vessel including stress, buckling, strength calculation, FEA that comply to the updated ASME standard ?

PVElite 2009 or Compress or what else?

I need your comprehensive review about those kind of software, which one is the best.

My present project is designing propane spherical tank.

Thank you very much for your response.

PVElite satisfies all the ASME code requirements needed for code-stamped items. And -to be fair- I didn't investigated the COMPRESS nor the sPEed.

In the past I've worked with engineering firms that used "COMPRESS" and even looked at purchasing the software myself. I believe this software is fully compliant with ASME Sec VIII Div 1 and Div 2. It is very intuitive. and the results are easy to follow.
