Licensing ANSYS 12 Workbench

07/07/2009 3:27 AM

Hello everybody!

I have a problem with Ansys 12 workbench... about licensing. The program starts normaly and when i check for licence, i see that my computer is using one.

Then in design space I import a model, put supports and loads on the element and when i click on solve it tells me that there is no licence free. It`s like that the program needs two licence for solving the analysis.

It`s this possible that one program on one machine needs two licence or we are doing something wrong?

thank you for your answers and your time

Try checking the suppliers website for FAQ or installation help (or the manual).

The answer to your problem depends very much on the licenses that you have. Some Ansys licenses do everything while some are specific to various operations such as solving.

Check if you are launching workbench with PrepPost license. If so, then when you go to solve, workbench will be looking for an additional solver license such as "ANSYS Mechanical" or "ANSYS Mechanical Batch". If this is the case, then you may need to review help on how to choose and launch solver licenses from within workbench. Or make sure to select one of the "does all" licenses before launching workbench when planning to run a solution.

If you are still having issues, contact your IT department for help (if you have one), or directly contact your ANSYS provider. Ansys is on the web at www.ansys.com. Browsing the site, various contact info and help is available in the technical support section under the services tab.

It`s working! The problem was, becouse we didn`t install service pack, which control the license. The ansys 12 workbench it`s a little bit different about licensing the product like the previouse one.

Anyway thanks for your answers
