Electromagnet Vibrator is Not Working

07/10/2009 2:33 AM

dear all..

i repaired an old vibrating feeder. there were some welding cracks on the vibrating tray; therefor a very big noise is came. so i repaired by welding them. after installation the vibrating effect not coming Continues. i didn't change the circuit of pulse generator. why the vibrating effect is not Continues!.is there a standard pulse generating circuit?

Has the welding current destroyed cables or circuits within the frequency generating equipment?

That would be my immediate guess. Welding and electronics are usually not good cohabitants

Here it is (before attempting please check voltage/ frequency ratings):

  1. You can directly feed A/C mains of 50/ 60 Hz and run the feeder for initial setting purpose. So bypass the pulse generator and set the bowl feeder first.
  2. Ensure that you have assembled the mechanical parts exactly same as before.
  3. There will be a gap between lower magnetic core and upper core. Set the gap properly. You can ensure proper gap by hit & trial.

Once the feeder bowl vibrating and feeding the material now you can connect back pulse generator. I am not sure what type of vibrating element you are using. There are many types and I gave the above advice assuming that your vibrator got 110V/ 230V magnetic core.

i didn't burn or damaged any wire or the circuit. i just did welding on the tray. i change the clearance also several times. feeding is working properly at certain time period and sometimes it won't work!. could anyone tell me whether the fault is in the circuit or else?

Damage would not need to ne in the form of mechanical or thermal extremes to the metal, but rather the intense electro-magnetic energy from the welding electrodes imparted upon the sensitive electronics that are involved in the pulse generation.

Unless maybe you did gas welding?
