Sludge Holding Air Requirement

07/11/2009 12:28 AM

Can anyone tell me how to calculate the air requirement for a sludge holding tank. I just need enough O2 to keep the sludge from going septic.

You'll need an ORP reading of 600mV and above, or a DO level of at least 5.0ppm. Since the O2 consumption of the sludge varies with concentration, temperature etc, this will be a fairly effective guideline.
