diesel consumption of DGs

07/12/2009 10:40 AM

Is there any thumb rule to guess the per hour diesel consumption of DG sets of various rating? I believe manufacturer's data is bit of inflated from actual. To be on safer side you know!!

Why do you need a rule of thumb to "Guess?" Why don't you just measure the consumption rate for the second hour of running? (The first hour can be measured also, but the engine won't be warm and may not perform as efficiently.)

Simply multiply the KVA with 0.2, you an approxmate diesel consumption per Hr at 100% load.

Multiply the load % load, so you can get the approx. consumption at particualar load.

Please note that the consumption will be linier from 100% to 30%
