Pl. give the carbon % in 304L as per ASTM A312/A 312M

As Per ASTM A312 /A 312 M following given below are contents:

carbon -0.035%

maganese-2%

phosphorus -0.045%

Sulfur- 0.030%

silicon-1.0%

chromium-18-20.0%

nickel -8.0 -13.0 %

All normal varieties of austenite SS materials have 0.08 % max. Carbon and the Low carbon version of same materials will have maximum of 0.03 % carbon to avoid certain corrosion aspects during service.
