Calculation of Surface Area of H Beam

Is there any formula or charts for finding Surface area of H - Beams ?

Can any one tell me how to calculate the above for a H beam -- 200 X 100

Pls help me

One way of doing the cross-section area is to take a rubbing of the end using squared paper and a soft pencil, count the squares, and multiply the total by the area of a square.

let 200 mm and 100 mm are sides of H beam. and L is the length of that beam. (let L=12 m)

= (0.2*2*12)+ (0.1*4*12) = 9.6 m2

(0.2*2*12)= in this number 2 indicates the two web sides

(0.1*4*12) = inthis mumber 4 indicates the four flange sides
