Air Conditioners - Calculating Full Load

How to calculate the full load current of packaged air conditioner.

capacity:1Ton, 3phase, 440volts

Please refer to the Air Cond specification name plate. It has all the data's written in it including the compressor motor FLC.

Apply the rule of thumb:

Every 400 sq ft of room needs 1 ton, each ton needs 1.25 KW.

So, air conditioner is approximately 1.25 KW and the ampere is approximately 2 A. This is only a rough approximation, the actual KW and ampere depends on many other factors.
