Vibration

07/25/2009 6:59 AM

i am using bently Neveda 3300 monitor for Vibration monitoring for a centrifugal gas compressor. the system is mounted in a purged panel locally near to the machine.each monitor has the provision of giving 4-20 ma out put proportional to its vibration signal input.I would like to take this 4-20ma data for 20 channels over a communication link and want to connect to our Honeywell Dcs system sitting on experion platform. kindly help me to implement this idea.

Regards

i have bentlyneveda 3300 dual channel vibration monitoring system.it receives vibration signal from proximeters and indicates locally on bar graph.it gives 4-20ma output proportional to to vibration signal input for every channel separately.I would like to convert these signal as serial output & send to my system over modbus protocol to online monitor and hystorise these data in my TDC 3000 DCS system.

3300 has two options. You can buy 4-20 ma gate way modules for your Honywell and take the 4-20 straight from the Bently to the Honywell line by line, or better you can use the digital connection on the system interface card in the 3300 rack and use modbus to connect to the Honywell. This would save running a lot of wire and would be cheaper and more efficient.

Sounds like you need to consult your local Bently rep (or Honywell rep) for some help.
