Connecting a DVDR / VCR to DirecTV DVR Plus Recorder

08/08/2009 4:07 AM

Hello, I'm trying to connect a DVD recorder/VCR combination unit to my DirecTV DVR so I can save some recordings to a DVD. I have not been able to do it yet even with DirecTV's help.

My combination unit is a Magnavox MWR20V6. When I wire it up like DirecTV recommends, I don't get any video or audio when I record; just a snowy screen. They tell me to hook up the audio/video wiring, side 1 on the DVR to side 1 on the TV, and side 2 to the DVDR/VCR, and then from that to side 2 on the TV. Still doesn't work.

I would thank you for any kind of help I could get.

I have done this for the last couple of years with my panny dvd recorder. there are 2 coax's going into the dvr to allow recording 1 program while watching the other. What I did was to route the TV out from the DVR to the Ant. in on the dvd recorder and then the TV out from the dvd recorder to the TV. There is an input select on the DVD recorder that must be switched to the proper input for it to work and the DVD recorder powered on even when not recording.

I did.

They said, "you cannot do that."

I finally figured out the proper connections, and adjusted settings in the DVR so I could record my content off of the DVR onto my DVDR.

Then I sent DirectV their piece of ($@& hardware back to them.

DirectV is full of liars, scam artists and licensed crooks whose only goal is to lighten your wallet as much as possible.

I'm in the process of preparing a lawsuit in civil court charging them with fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud. Their representatives will tell you anything to steal your money.

If you call them, RECORD all conversations!
