Cany any body tell me how to find mean metal temperature and maximum metal temperature in a heat exchanger

The maximum metal temperature is that of the highest temperature of the hot-side fluid entering it.

There are a number of mean temperature calculations, depending on the application to which the calculation is put. Normally, the log-mean temperature difference is used to size the area of the exchanger, for example.
