Saying ''I don't know where to start'', is such a turn off.
I'm sorry but it just sounds lazy
If you say what you do know, or where you have looked then people will help.
Have you looked at the mechanics of a cab? Have you talked to a lorry driver? Have you tried google?

Sorry Sir,

I explain in detail, that its a mechanical system which has three locking mechanism(Latch lever arm, primary lock, secondary lock) used to hold the cab.

1. Primary lock is main lock which hold in latch lever.

2. secondary lock is cum into play when primary lock failed.

Sir please if there is any querry then revert back to me.

Ah, so you did know where to start and had already found out some stuff.
It's not my field really, I was just trying to help your communictaion.

I would think it would be easiest and most cost effective to use off the shelf parts, I would imagine that many trucks use the same parts from a common supplier.
Good luck

Start with a trip to the local scrap yard or truck salvage yard!

This mechanism has long been around. You are unlikely to make a better one than those that are typically employed.

I'm not kidding since I had a CargoStar International truck with a 24 foot box of 12'3" that I drove all over Manhattan with a cab tilting system.

You pull a lever and a hook lets go of the cab.

I did pay a lot of money to have the cracked wiring harness fixed, and that may well be a better focus for your time.

Repetitive cab lifting to allow for access to the engine of the truck broke my trucks wiring harness.

Start here with, Transcendian's statement:

"You pull a lever and a hook lets go of the cab."

That's the start. Now figure a better way to secure/deploy the cab.

"You pull a lever and a hook lets go of the cab."
I was thinking maybe a pretty bow of pink ribbon would do the trick

You maybe onto something there. Riveted Velcro Strips that wrap around the frame!

Of course the lever latch system works fine, and has some advantages, like it works fine, and requires only one move, whereas ribbons and bows, buckles and bobbles will call for a multiplicity of inputs.

Your standard old car hood latch turned upsidedown is pretty much the truck cab lift latch.

But what I really wanted to talk about was how back when I was a Boy Scout and we drove old cars around on dirt roads getting back and forth from Camp, or for adventures, we used pantyhose as a fanbelt after a breakdown once.

It actually worked well enough to get us to a garage!

How the hosiery happened to be in the trunk of the big finned Plymouth, is a mystery to me. I am certain I had not yet gotten my hands on such undergarments. The old joke about North Carolina was that "There are Roads, Where No Man has Gone."

Though these roads still exist, some of the beauty and charm of them has been eroded over the years.

Hello Saurabh,

When searching enter anything you might think is helpful. Sometimes you get some interesting and helpful sites, other times you don't, but do not give up keep trying.

You can see the options on the left of the search below, listed as:

Videos

Forums

Reviews

etc.

When searching click the options button, to the left and just below the search/address

field box.

Persevere and do not give up. Only you really know exactly what you want, so just

keep thinking and often one search will lead to another site and onto another one etc.

My search field was 'truck - tilt latch'.

Read below and try your own searches.

Just curious, are you the engineer who designed the Ram 1500 (2004) Horn circuitry?

Hello saurab

I have explained how tyo do effective searches, try that first.

Measure up the distances from the back rear of the cab to the main framework. Have a look at trucks where you live and you can see how they are designed. There is spring and hydraulic latches, it will depend on what type of latch it is to get the fit right.

I or we here at CR4 cannot tell you how to design a latch in detail. You need to know and decide on a design and know what strength the sheet metal you are using is. If you are employed your employers should be able to help you. Unless you want to design a latch to replace one which has broken? In which case you must measure the old one and the distances between the can and body as I already explained.

Find some metal fabrication books and take it from there.

There are several very good units on the market now. Why reinvent the horse?
