Siemens SINAMICS Error

08/12/2009 8:57 AM

Siemens SINAMICS G110 VFD - EXTERNAL POT NOT WORKING. Siemens g110 - if analog input 0-10 volt applied to terminal no 8,9,10 with 5k POT and parameter p01000 is set to 2 then 10 volt dc supply, will be there between terminal no 8 and 10 or not ? from external potentionmeter drive speed is not working with correct parameter entered p1000 =2 but from MOP mode speed is increasing by arrow key

Any friend can help me in this matter, other start ,stop function is externally controlled well but speed is not externally controlled.

From what you are saying it sounds like the external speed potentiometer is the problem (as manual speed control is working).

Have you connected the potentiometer up correctly (haven't transposed the potentiometer common terminal with the wiper terminal)?

Is the potentiometer resistance within the resistance limits of the Siemens controller (ie- have you used the right part)?

Have you connected the potentiometer up to the correct g110 terminals?

Have you set ALL of the appropriate parameters on the Siemens unit to allow external potentiometer speed control (there is generally more than one parameter controlling external speed control)?

Have you set the Siemens controller for the correct RUN conditions (some run conditions such as the 'manual keypad control only' will disable any external control (like the speed potentiometer)?

Have a close look at the Siemens manual again, it is probably just something simple you have missed (like forgetting to program a relevant parameter or connecting the potentiometer around the wrong way).

Let us know what you find.

all the connections are o.k ,all the parameters are ok but on terminal no 8 & 10 it should be 10 volt dc but with external potentiometer it is not working .

already last ten years i am working on vfd. first time iam facing this problem .

1.-Connect the pot ends to a 9volt battery and leave the wiper disconnected by now.

2.- Connect the battery (-) side to the common (gnd) of the speed ref. input.

3.- Now connect the wiper to the speed ref. input and try different levels.

If the drive works (wich is most likely to occur since it was working before with the same config. and connections) then you have a bad internal voltage source for the speed command, check fuse resistors, fuses and semicons. related to it.

If you can't fixit at this level, you have to replace the drive because almost everything else is SMD (special tools reqd.) or it ain't worth to repair.
