why we give transformer rating in VA.why not in kva or kw.

Because the load on a transformer seldom has a power facator of one.

We do give it in KVA and MVA too

Why not in - W, KW, MW, HP, ft-lbs, cph, BTU/H etc search the previous threads.

Transformer is a very effecient elect. machine designed with a unity power factor=1.

In this reason therefore the Kw=Kva Note: always refer back to power triangle theory, therefore you can visualize the relations of Kva, Kw and Kvar.
