We have a product called MG-KRETE that is a cement repair product that bonds with existing cement. I would invite you to review the capabilities of this amazing concrete repair product as it will produce a fix that lasts. We would be happy to provide you with a sample patch kit so you can try it for yourself. MG-KRETE begins to harden within minutes after applying to create a strength that's unmatched by regular concrete or plaster compounds. I will send you more information and a sample patch kit if you email me at d.smith@evcglobal.us

Google Fluid stone, its an unique flexible material that does not crack and is ECO friendly. Good luck!

I would suggest a latex concrete bonding agent before any concrete patches, it can be found in any hardware stores.

What seems to be the reason of the pealing? What is the substrate, blocks?

Hello basher330,

Tap the wall to see how far the rendering is hollow. When you find a good bit the sound is much higher. Where it is damaged, the sound is like hitting a drum! Just tap lightly with your knuckle or a paint brush handle ......... gently does it OK?

It may be more than a patch is necessary? If it is just a patch, mix PVA glue, (Just plain paper glue) about 50%/50% with water. Brush all the dust away and 'paint' this solution to the damaged areas and over-lapping the 'good sound' concrete. This will seal the concrete and help to prevent rust, on any re-bars that may have this problem.

Render the patched areas with a strong mix of render, about 1-cement / 2-sand. You can add a little plasticiser which is just a table spoon of washing up liquid to the water before mixing. This will help in the application of the render. You will need to paint the outside again anyway so any ugly patches blend in.

Just a final point ................. To 'seal' The old powdery rendered wall ...... Use a stiff hand brush to clean any loose paint and cobwebs and dirt off. Then before you paint, >>> and in dry weather,<<< mix a pint of PVA glue with two gallons of water.

After the patches have dried, paint the entire wall or painted area with the PVA/water mix. Allow the mix to paint over and onto the window and door frames. You can wipe any splashes or excess off from doors and windows. But the mix will help fill any tiny cracks around windows and stop any intrusion of rain or moisture, which could lead to more patches!

Leave it for a day. Then put three coats of whatever exterior paint you like.

There is al kinds of very expensive 'sealing agents'. But the PVA cost' almost nothing and is flexible and works just as well. Certainly until it is time to paint again anyway! Good luck.
