Go to user accounts and delete all users but admin. It should start right up with no logon.

Thanks for help.

Actually i went to "user account" , i did a mistake and deleted all of user names except Administrator.

Now when i turn on the computer it goes to :

To begin, click user name

But no user name is shown on the screen to click on (empty) and i can not start my computer.

Any way to fix this problem ?

You'll need a disc drive and an XP disc. Reboot and while holding down the F8 key, select boot to command prompt. Enter sfc /scannow and follow the directions to insert the XP disc as the registry is rebuilt.

Hello bwire:

I didn't know that. Neat trick if ever lock myself out of the computer.

Now the question is does he have a usable disk. My wife's e machine came with a complete image disk, I don't think you can access the operating system separately. My laptop has a restore partition, but basically the same thing.

I guess when you buy the store-bought things they want make sure you have to load up all the bloatware. I bought the e machine cheaper than I could've built it, but I'm not sure it was worth the aggravation of getting the bloatware off of it.

For quick and efficient bloatware dump or program that are not user friendly when un-installing use:

after having used Vista for some time, I've forgotten how to do this in XP, but I remember faintly that you could change the manner of logging in inside the control panel.

but OP wants to immediately go into windows after booting, apparently bypassing log-in. I don't know if that's possible.

It seems like sfc (systems file checker) only works in the Windows environment.

Hey Zacky, that first post got you into trouble, huh? Obviously, not all these guys are the experts they claim to be. What you need is a user account now that you have deleted all of them. To accomplish this, press F8 as your computer is booting up as others have suggested. You may have to do this repeatedly to get it to work. Once the windows splash screen comes up you have waited too late. When you get to the screen that allows you to choose different ways of booting, you want to choose Safe Mode. Once you have successfully booted into Safe Mode as Administrator (which is the default) you can then go to control panel - users and create a user account. Be sure to not specify a password for login and your computer should boot normally without asking you for a password. You are going to have to setup some stuff again though. Deleting all your accounts could have screwed up your rights to run some of your software. I hope you still have installation disks. Good luck!

Regards,

Keywalker

Go to user settings and under administrator click on change password and do not enter any password. If you haven't entered one previously, try just hitting enter.

Hello Zacky:

If I'm understanding your problem correctly your system will no longer start. So the first thing you have to do is get back into Windows. Reboot and press F8, when the menu comes up select last configuration that worked.

If you're able to logon then, go to administrative tools user accounts and see if net passport is turned on. If it is turn it off, you then should be able to start without having to click on a user.

When Windows starts, go Ctrl-Alt-Del all at the same time, twice. Type in Administrator, press enter. You should be able to log-in. If not, at computer startup, press repeatedly F8, start computer in Safe Mode, do the same as above. If you need more help, feel free to email me.

Holy please do not follow "advice" from charsley99 and mglatfelterjr.

The first one got you into this mess. Second one ..... Ctrl-Alt-Del will reboot the computer. You won't get anything but a non-stop reboot.

You need to get into Safe mode in XP. You can do it in 2 ways. Try to press F8 before the Windows screen. Pay attention when computer is booting. Some BIOS will have option for F8, you'll have to wait for those to pass/finish first. Once you know BIOS will not wait for F8, you can press it a few times until you get the choice to select Safe mode. You may need to try a few times.

Another way is hold both Shift before the Windows Screen. It doesn't work all the time.

Hope you get your computer running again.

Ctrl-Alt-Del will not reboot the computer from the Welcome screen, Pineapple does not know what he is talking about. You deleted your user accounts and cannot get into Windows, so the advice that requires you to get into Windows first will not work. I have been fixing computers for more that twenty years and know what I am talking about. If you need more help, don't hesitate to email or call me, I will help you for free.

Your instruction was "When Windows Start", not "When you see Welcome screen". You have completely changed the timing of when to press Ctrl-Alt-Del

You might know what you're doing but you don't know what you're talking about

BTW when he deleted the user account, he could have lost files in My Document and Desktop. Not sure if XP will delete user folder when the account is deleted. Never tried that myself.

All the info is still there, even the user account info, its in the user profile. It can be retrieved, I do that when I install a new hard drive in a computer, the users setting and everything transfer over. Nothing is really lost on a computer (as in deleted, things get lost all the time), just misplaced. Windows stores everything, even things we wish it would not, how do you think the FBI finds evidence against someone even off a damaged or formatted over hard drive?

It depends on if he choice to delete user files or not. Hope he picked "keep files".

To "expert" like you and me, of course we can undelete the files. Since Zacky can't even boot into Windows, there is not much he can do.

remove password from account. Go to control panel and via user accounts remove password and you may also go to administration/computer management/services- disable net login or windows login/password.
