BCT-1 Energy Source?

08/20/2009 10:50 AM

Quote from investors report; "The first BCT-1 plant is already on-line, producing over 20 megawatts of clean, green electricity. It's being sent over the grid to light over 18,000 homes in a large California city".

"Incredibly, most Wall Street analysts are completely ignorant with regards to BCT-1 technology, and few investment houses are even aware of the company."

Has anyone got info on this?

No, not yet. I'm sure we'll get a response soon, though.

It's an investor tease program that apparently is, for now anyway, more bent on acquiring investment dollars rather than generating electricity. But from what I've heard it is a "warm water" geothermal system that uses a thermal exchange system based n a new thermal generator made by United Technologies. Instead of having to get steam from active geothermal areas, it can extract energy from "pretty hot" water through drilling deep enough just about anywhere.

Bottom line though, nobody is actually doing it yet, it's all still speculation.

Hi-

It is my understanding that this is a Utah based company, which is listed on the TSX stock exchange in Vancouver Canada.

However, i would sure like to put a name to the company.

There seems to be a few good reasons for that, but once you cut thru the marketing BS.......BEHOLD, some answers!

So who are they?

Raser Technologies (RZ)

Form your own conclusions i guess. They are not the only ones who have tried (or are trying) this form of geothermal power system.

Great if it actually works (I am a big fan of geothermal power, and it would be nice to not be limited by large installation costs and limited suitable installation sites).
