Normally, we do not face any problem on the cable insulation breakdown after the installation. Mostly these problem occur due to human error. All cables have their minimum bending radius in which it need to be follows strictly, otherwise, insulation inside the cable will be damage due to excess bending.
The other problem is the cable jointing by the manufacturing during the manufacturing these cable. Sometime, these cable jointing point does give you some problem. So usually, when we purchase these cable, we will always specified that there should no cable joint in between.
