I've had the same problem every time I use nero - yet I burn the same files onto the same type CD using other software and it works. Tell you the truth, I trouble shot it a little as nero seems to be the program of choice that most new computers come pre-loaded with, but I gave up as I have alternative software that never fails and wastes my CD-R's. Thus I don't have a fix for your problem, but I will recommend using CD-RW's - so that when nero botches another burn process it doesn't waste any of your $.
Could be hardware or software issue. I had similar problems 2 times.
First one was bad drive. No software would work. Needed new burner drive.
Second time, software was junk. Found a program called "Totally Free Burner " online and drive worked perfectly from that day on. Suggest you try new software first.
It couldn't burn my CD when i needed it most. I had similar results on more trials and concluded it had a software defect, especially, when other softwares could burn my CD.
The variuos posts above now shows the problem was not peculier to me and to some extent confirms my conclusion that that particular version of Ner was defective.
cheers,
ethobil
