Use a Wet Vacuum at a point that doesnt disturb the blending process. Use a suction flange over the blender with a baffle chute to drive the produce in past the mouth's vacuum.

Thanks for prompt response. The pungent odour is being experienced when we feed the chilly powder into blender and also when the blender lid is opened after blending with salt.

A switch to run a the vac when the lid is opened sounds good then! I'm not sure if you could just replace the blender with a vacuum job but it might be worth checking out some industrial suppliers.

Exhaust hood with local suction ducts/pipes is the solution. Supply fresh filtered air to make it up.

We use a hood, a centrifugal blower with inlet connnected to the hood and a cloth bag collector at the end of the duct.

All standard products. Can be switched on and off by the operator.

The odour problem could be minimized by circulating the air the room through activated carbon filters.

Activated carbon is a form of processed carbon to make it extremely porous and has very large surface area available for adsorption. It has so much high degree of micro porosity that just a gram of material has a surface area 900 to 1200 square meters (area of about 3 tennis courts), which very useful in adsorb offensive odours.

Odour control is usually controlled either by activated carbon filtration or wet scrubber filtration. You system is likely small enough to justify only activated carbon (as noted by krishnan.ng). There are many suppliers of activated carbon systems. Quick internet search should locate one near your facility. As your application is food service I would definitely NOT use a wet vacuum as this would not be sanitary, nor acceptable for food grade service. Proper placement and design of hoods near your inlet and outlet to draw off air while loading/unloading the blender is essential. The existing dust collection system can be used (assuming the hoods are properly located) with the activated carbon filter placed after the dust collector.

Chilly powder? as in powder that needs a blanket? I couldn't resist...It is actually Chili Power from ground chili pepper pods.

Thanks to all for responding in a positive way and it is opined that blower with hood & duct may be useful for this application.
