See Ya Copper & Aluminum Wires! Meet NanoTubes!

06/15/2005 6:11 AM

Some of us here back on the East coast think of those Californians as leading a slower paced life compared to us New Yorkers...
But UC Irvine scientists have "demonstrated for the first time that carbon nanotubes can route electrical signals on a chip faster than traditional copper or aluminum wires, at speeds of up to 10 GHz"

There's no stopping the 'Nanosuperhighway!'

The only problem is that you have to switch over the entire chip making industry, which they do every 18 months any way. With the pace of technological advancement in this field I think people might wait for several advances before switching to any one new technology.
