My Man Pythagoras

Can you provide me with a Pythagorean Triple(represented in its "simplest form) that does not yield a prime number as its hypoteneuse? Integers only Please (for REDFRED)

Kay you REALLY need to learn how to use Wikipedia and the internet to find your answers to your simple questions.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pythagorean_triple

It took less time to find than write this post.

Not to worry, there is a first time for everything and not everyone knows about the power and depth of the internet or how to search it properly (although I have mentioned Wikipedia to you a number of times).

the first time i got on the internet out side of cheking e mails was 3 months ago

Quick question (and I have asked CR4 users previously), how did you find out about CR4? So many people seem to be able to stumble onto CR4 but don't seem to know about internet search engines or wonderful sites like Wikipedia (which features prominently in many search engine results near or at the top of the list). I have lost count of the number of really basic questions I and others have answered by saying the equivalent of "put it in an internet search engine, answer is the very first result" (ie- they can somehow find CR4 on the internet which is in many cases harder to find than their answer).

The old saying

"Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime"

is all well and good, but many times I feel like I am teaching potential fishermen that you will find the fish in the sea.

well i guess the better question is how or why did CR4 find me?

I was conducting a search for industrial strength cleaners (relative to my business)

and VOiLIA they offered their services

I have had a lot of fun posing Questions and responding to the CR4 members but Perhaps I dont belong here I posed some esoteric Questions and had a huge response

You were among the participants But I probably dont belong tooling around in an engineering forum Life can be complicated when one doesn t know ones place

Anyway your colleagues have been great . Intellectual stimulation is an adventure

but a bird cant marry a fish where would they make their home?

I will go quietly into the night and leave the engineering to the engineers

but Perhaps I dont belong here

If your interested in learning then you are in the right place. You certainly don't have to be an engineer to be on this forum site. There are plenty of people that are not engineers or scientists that regularly participate and share their personal knowledge and experience in many diverse areas so that we all might learn something new, be it knowledge or another different way of thinking or approaching a problem.

That's what CR4 is all about.

Are you certain I was under the impression that this was an "Engineers Forum"

A wide range of topics are covered here, obviously this isn't face book or google groups, but as long as the topics and comments stay within the bounds of the CR4 rules http://cr4.globalspec.com/faq (almost) everyone is happy. You don't have to be an engineer to post, and you certainly don't have to be an engineer to read the posts and comments on CR4. Just like Pythagoras, if your willing to open your mind and learn we are willing to teach whether you be a Noble or a commoner (Note-comment not quite historically accurate).

Stick around, your bound to learn something.

Any way how has the winter been in NZ?

Variable, its hot and sunny today with chances of heavy thunderstorms when I get home to do my laundry.

Perhaps you do belong here what more proof you need than-

I have had a lot of fun posing Questions and responding to the CR4 members.

Engineering is a bit knowledge, more of commonsense and most of attitude.

The knowledge part is from books (any of science) the others need not be acquired in class room and were there as you were born .

As far as the op is concerned

x2+y2=z2 is what is the triplet.

If you do not want the primitive ones, then simply multiply by a2.

a2x2 + a2y2 = a2z2

(ax)2 + (ay)2 = (az)2

For primitive ones, you do have the sets in the math books where quite a few non prime hypoteneuse are there simplest being the one with 25 (24,7)
