Maybe if you provide a context you will get a better answer than mine.
Layout optimisation of my workshop isn't going to be much use to you...
Mind, I'd have thought the clue was in the the two words...
As Del Boy Trotter would say...

'Yeah, well... it's yer optimisation of yer layout...innit..'

Material handling depends on the material...handling of sheet glass, sheet steel, and sheet plastic will be different. Maybe they need optimising?
