Automatic Repositioning 360° Swivel Ball / Bearing

09/07/2009 9:42 PM

Its kinna like the ones on the old car antennas, that would support the antenna, yet still allow it to swivel in ALL directions in hopes of reducing the intensity of an impact...

A ball style is OK, as I must have it swivel (rotate) in any and all directions. It must also automatically come back to its original position after impact. By impact I mean minor human or animal type accidental contact.

I am looking to purchase already made units and adapt them to our needs.

Anyone please know of anyplace I can get these?

Thank you and GOD bless

Take a look at hood ornaments, the one's that stand up above the hood. They are spring loaded for safety and might work in your application.

Would a short section of stretch net curtain wire:-

(or other spring) with a rotational element serve the purpose?

Not another bad idea. I will go to one of the home centers and check it out. Thank you very much for the image and the idea. There are still good people in this world!
