Cleaning / Degreasing Test for Coating Oils / Prelubes

09/08/2009 2:09 AM

I work for a manufacturer of Coating oils for corrosion prevention also called prelubes. Some of the Steel Coil manufacturers for Auto panels have asked us to prove that our Coating Oil/fluid can be easily cleaned / degreased. Are there any standard tests for the same.

I have searched the web and found VDA 230 & 232 gives this test. But when we try to purchase this document we find it is available in German language only.

Can any one help in giving me the test procedure.

Thanking you in advance for your co-operation.

Regards,

Lash SD

Use the "water break" method to determine surface cleanliness. ASTM-F-22.
