Meter Wiring

09/09/2009 8:31 AM

Hi All

I need a wiring configuration diagram for analouge hour run meter. I now this meter have to be in parallel with the load. The load is a water heater rated at 3kW, 230V.

I also know that these cannot be configer in series with the load (heater). This will just blow the hour run meter due to high load current. Please correct me if I am incorrect.

The hour run meter is Legrand make cat number 004694 (230v 50Hz).

Please help.

I would simply connect the hour meter across the heating element at the output of the temperature controller. Most are two wire devices so there is little chance of hooking it up wrong.

The hour meter is just to register the total hour of the operating equipment. As long your equipment is in operating, the hour meter will start running. Just connect it to the correct location of the load, that is, parallel with the heater terminal if you want to check how long the heater has been running.

Don't connect in series or your heater will not working properly.
